Okto Home screen: Tuesday, November 3, Emma & Jake. Next up, Yoga class at 6:30 PM, then Dinner at Marco's tomorrow. 9 groceries to buy, 2 to-dos today, and "You owe Jake $66.28".

Okto is a Cozi alternative for couples who also share money. Like Cozi, it has a shared calendar and shared grocery and to-do lists. Unlike Cozi, it adds expense splitting with a running balance, and it shows no ads. Okto is built for a household of two on iPhone and Android.

Instead of

  • a calendar app with ads
  • a separate app for who owes whom
  • a month view locked behind a paid plan
  • a spreadsheet for bills

Calendar, lists and money in one app.

A shared calendar, free of ads

Cozi includes a shared calendar in its free plan. Okto gives a couple the same core, with a month view in the free app, a filter by person and no ads.

  • Month view and day agenda, free
  • Filter by Everyone or each partner
  • Place, participants and reminders on events
  • Two-way sync with Google and iCloud with Okto Plus
Okto shared calendar, month view of November 2026 with Emma and Jake's plans: yoga, dinner at Marco's, pickleball, a Vermont weekend and Thanksgiving.
Okto calendar with the day agenda open: Dinner at Marco's, 7:30 to 9:30 PM at Marco's Trattoria, with Jake and Emma.

Shared lists for the week

Both apps cover groceries and to-dos. In Okto, the grocery list gives each item an icon and an "in the cart" section, and reminders carry a date, a time and an owner.

  • Shared grocery list for both partners
  • Reminders with assignees and due dates
  • Smart views: Today, Scheduled, All, Assigned to me
  • Lists of your own: trips, gifts, home projects
Okto shared grocery list: avocados, oat milk, sourdough bread, eggs, baby spinach, coffee beans, parmesan, bananas, Greek yogurt, with olive oil and paper towels already in the cart.
Okto shared reminders: call the plumber today at 5 PM, dry cleaning, pay rent every month, book flights for Christmas, water the plants every week, renew car insurance.

What Cozi leaves out: shared money

Cozi does not split expenses or keep balances. Okto does: record who paid, choose equal, amounts or percentages, and see where you stand in one line on Home.

  • Split equally, by amounts or by percentages
  • A balance like "You owe Jake $66.28"
  • Settle up when you want to even out
  • Repeating expenses and monthly stats with Okto Plus
Okto shared expenses: total spent, my share, and each expense with who paid and each person's share, such as Groceries $86.40 paid by Emma.
Okto balances: You owe Jake $66.28, with a Settle up button.
